I just enjoy seeing people smile.
Gail has been volunteering with Valley Playhouse for more than a decade since her daughter was in Trumpet of the Swan 17 years ago. She has been involved since then performing,producing, painting sets, assisting with costumes and props; and serving as president, secretary, and treasurer of the board. A pediatrician by training, she currently lectures part time in the JMU Health Science department.
J.P. Gulla has been a board member with The Valley Playhouse for two years and is currently our Treasurer. He is a former member of SAG and AEA, and has worked in the business as an actor, acting coach, fight choreographer and director throughout the country, even internationally. In May 2002 J.P. received his BFA for Acting/Directing from DeSales University and in Jan 2006 he received his MFA for Acting from Catholic University. J.P. has Directed "The Fantasticks" and "The Trial of Goldilocks” with The Valley Playhouse.
Claire moved to Harrisonburg in 2014 from Rochester, NY after graduating from Juniata College in Pennsylvania. She enjoys playing flute and being involved with community theater in various ways, both on stage and off. She currently is a Manager at A Bowl of Good Cafe.
Shannon Listol Wilson
Shannon joined the VP Board in June 2014. A graduate from JMU's Theatre and Dance program, she was a professional actress, dancer, singer, musician, and teaching artist in the DC area before moving back to the 'burg in March 2014 with her family. Shannon is a Company Member with Chesapeake Shakespeare Company, and an Alumni Company Member with Synetic Theater and Pallas Theatre Collective. In the Fall of 2011, Shannon founded Red Eye Gravy Theatre Company, whose mission is to produce plays to benefit social causes. REGTC's Romeo & Juliet featured the star-crossed lovers as a gay couple. REGTC won "The Giving Back" Award from MD Theatre Guide in 2014 for I Am You. Shannon Is excited to be back in the Valley and anxious for new development with VP as their Artistic Liason.
Claudia Hanna Veysel
Public Relations Coordinator
Claudia joined the VP Board in August 2015. She grew up in Harrisonburg, then attended UVA, Emory University and lived in Cyprus for over 8 years. During her time in the Mediterranean, Claudia was a Radio and Television personality with her show, "The Morning Show with Claudia" for over 4 years. Noticing a performing arts vacuum on the island, she opened a children's drama studio. Since moving back to Harrisonburg with her family, Claudia continues to teach drama classes for children in the area. She acts as the Director of Public Relations for Valley Playhouse and looks forward to introducing more children's drama classes in the Valley.
Rachel E. Herrick
Rachel is a graduate of James Madison University, where she studied Theatre and Dance with a concentration in Theatrical Design. She currently works for Randy's Hardware as Creative Director, and freelances in costume design and construction.
Rebecca Wishon Rogers
Rebecca has been involved in many Valley Playhouse productions since moving to the Valley in 2007. She is a teacher in Harrisonburg City Schools. She taught visual art for 9 years, and currently teaches Drama at Skyline Middle School.
Noel came to Harrisonburg eleven years ago and has provided lighting design and tech with Valley Playhouse for the past six years. He specializes in the community as a family mediator with the Fairfield Mediation Center, was instrumental in the creation of the Friendly City Food Co-op and sometimes offers himself as a substitute teacher in the Harrisonburg City schools. In 2012 he was inducted into a world-wide group know as The Old Farts.
